I have been reading lot of threads lately on IV...While I am in same boat as all of you, I feel really stressed out after reading these threads. Almost feels sad about myself and others. Don't you get one from your employer each year. I received paper and soft copy of W-2 (the paper copy has atleast 4 copies) each year.
I do not know about I485...
but it is not hard to get copies of W2. IRS has a service that will give you copies of your fed tax papers including W2s in 60 days. You can also ask you employer, they ususlay keep a copy.

Yes, as long as the derivative I-485 is submitted before the primary applicant receives approval of his I-485.

Her I-485 does not need to filed before his I-485 approval. She can file for her I-485 when PD is current and maintaining valid visa status (or out of status < 180 days) at the time of filing of her I-485.

Not all non-profits are cap-exempt.
He could theoretically apply for a change of status from B-2 to H-1B. However he should not be using the B-2 to look for work. Any change of status, or H-1B visa application at a consulate, might bring up the questions of his activities in B-2 status, and whether he misrepresented anything. If he found a job while in the US in B-2 status, his activities in B-2 status might be questioned.

I agree the right way for Company B was to apply for concurrent H1-B that will allow you to work part time for Company B while working full time with Company A.

Your Lawyer for sure gets it. You will get a copy of it. (I think you will get only if it is medical or any personal).

Some additional information. My wife's first semester will be Fall semester as H4 and spring as F1. She will graduate by the end of spring- i.e. May 2009.
Well most of the time classes you need are not offered in the summers, also as a International student you can take summer semester off, you legally have that right. Now don't pick classes in the summers, move it to the fall semester. Also
I checked with my counselor, if you are left with only once class, you can take it in the fall, all you would need to is, contact your counselor and let him take care of the paper work. in that cases you don't need to take 3 classes to maintain your F1status.

Dear fellow IV members,
I was just referring to my first application for EAD filed by my lawyer (july filer)
For Q#12 - Date of last entry into the US - my lawyer had entered (05/10/2007) - the H1-B approval date in date of last entry in to US - is this because of the new I-94 attached to H1-B approval notice?
But the I-94 in the passport shows my actual physical entry into US after my last visit outside the country - 08/10/2006.
I have not traveled outside the country after renewing my H1-B.
Which date did you guys put - the actual date of physical entry or the I-94 start date after renewal of H1-B?

I am totally lost on what to do.

My check for 485 was cashed on August 20 (process by my bank) and the online case status says receipt was mailed out. But my lawyer has not received it as of today.

I just want to start a thread for folks whose primary applicant is approved but derivative is pending. My case was approved on July 8th, but my wife's case is still pending. Here is the complete list of steps that we have taken.
1) Created an SR on 07/09/2010 (No response yet)
2) InfoPass appointment on (07/16/2010); Reveals that case is pre-adjudicated.
3) Submitted form DHS-7001 (07/19/2010)
Please share your comments, thoughts and experiences on how you dealt with this situation.

Here in my city (Piracicaba - S�o Paulo/Brazil) there is a river (Piracicaba�s River) that crosses the center of the city.
I was driving near when i saw something not commom, a man fishing and giving the fishes to this "gar�as" (i don�t know the name of this bird in english). There was more or less 8 to 10 gar�as waiting the fish.
I took some photo and i post here to divide with you my friends.

With a one-year residency requirement in Georgia, with an H-1 visa, you should qualify for in-state tuition.
It worked in our case, but that was a couple of years ago.
In all the big ones like GA Tech, UGA and GSU, the admissions counsellors and the registrar's office are pretty clued into this issue.

Last i read was that the NON-RIR labors were being processed first compared to the RIR ones. So think twice before u take any decision.
