H1B Visa Lawyer Blog Has Just Posted the Following:
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) has announced (http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=32094) that several more forms will be transitioning from the Service Centers to the Lockbox Network. USCIS believes that by centralizing form and fee intake to a Lockbox environment, USCIS will improve consistency and integrity in the intake process.

Get your I140 approved. Once your I-140 approves, the priority date belongs to you forever. When you move to the next company and file for your labor again (with PERM nowadays, it doesn't take more than 3 months), you can still continue like you were with your old company.

I agree the right way for Company B was to apply for concurrent H1-B that will allow you to work part time for Company B while working full time with Company A.

I e-filed EAD renewal. On the I-797 Notice of Action that they mailed me, the "Priority Date" field is blank. The same is true for my last EAD notice of action as well which I did not check last time. Is it normally blank?
Is anybody else in the same boat?
I checked my receipt notice. PD is blank. I checked with a friend of mine and his receipt notice PD is blank too.
BTW mine is paper based filing.

Let us keep the focus on our issue. What are we going to protest next? Family-Based Immigrant Visas, which are given out, without any real numerical limits, only because someone is related to a citizen?
The "U" visas are for people who have suffered violence in indescribable ways. Despite the limbo the EB Visa beneficiaries face, let us not even begin comparing our predicament with the sometimes life-ending plight of people who qualify for "U" visas.

The greencard is only from the first H1. In fact I have already filed I-485 on basis of my employment with this co.

I am currently using EAD. My I-485 is pending status. I am planning to get married in India soon. She will be in India as I can not bring her on H4 and student visa is difficult. So dilemma is about 485 name addition. Can I add spouse's name in I-485 application whenever Priority Date is current?
If yes, then how does it work? I mean is it possible at all?

Guys, please don't start Indian firm bashing here. This site is being visited by people of other nationalities as well as offices of the lawmakers. We don't want to throw mush on the companies of our own country and look small. The info spgtopper has asked for is being asked by our lobbyst, so I would appreciate if you provide the relevant info.

I have valid H1 visa with Company A till sep 2009. I have applied for h1 transfer to company B in june 2008 and it's still pending without any RFE. I got an offer from Company C. Can I transfer my H1 to company C, when H1 transfer with company B is pending? Company A has revoked my H1. will that in any way affect my h1 transfer??

Hi, I recently got married to an American Citizen. I am Canadian citizen and on travel visa here. I filed my I-485 jut last week. My question is how long does it take to get permanent resident approval?
Since you got married to a us citizen, the entire process is much faster and you must have the green card in less than 6 or utmost 9 months.

I have recently filled the USCIS survey. But I am not satisfied with all the questions they have. I want to tell what we want to tell (not what they want to hear)
I have an idea to send USCIS director information about how they are doing ? (In terms of delays, consistency, customer service, implementation, transparency). This will not cost any dime to anybody and at the same time make an impact.
Step One:
One of us can first create a survey on survery monkey (detailed one..with complete description about various aspects of USCIS) . I have created a Draft of the questions which can go in the survey. You can add more (Please do not delete the existing ones).
The real survey can contain scale of measurement (1 to 10) and also descriptive comments. I can keep the draft open for 10 days before creating/publishing the real survey so that everybody can contribute to creating it. Here is the link to the draft (feel free to add more questions which are to the point and can make an impact)
