Unless you have some specific reason, you will face tough question if you go to any other country. If it is Mexico or Canada, they are neighbouring countries and you have a point to argue.

The Barack Obama Administration recently announced that border guards at United States Ports of Entry (POE) will begin screening aliens arriving from certain countries based on specific information about threats to the USA. The immigration attorneys at Los Angeles' Fong & Chun immigration law firm are advocates for national security balanced against sensible protections for civil rights. We hope this change will reduce the number of unwarranted, unreasonable, and (usually) unfriendly challenges to certain arriving visitors.
Since the New York terrorist attack in September 2001, the USA has maintained a list of approximately fourteen countries (the so-called "group of fourteen") which are considered to encourage state-sponsored terrorism, or which are believed to provide assistance to terrorists. The US would not even officially name the specific countries, or confirm the exact number of countries, on the list. All citizens of one of these countries -- of any gender, any age, any social class, any educational level, for any reason -- would be subjected to additional interrogation by US Border Guards.
The newly-announced change sets up a system which uses intelligence information and threat assessment -- about specific persons, specific targets, and specific descriptions, to identify passengers who might have a link to terrorism. Quite properly, those persons would be subjected to additional scrutiny. Others who do not meet the more reasoned threat profiles would be allowed to enter the USA in the way of other visitors.
For example: most people in the know would say that the Islamic Republic of Iran was part of the group of fourteen. All citizens from Iran -- absolutely all -- would be pulled aside and interrogated at POEs. Under the new system, if the US has specific information about a 26-year old male Iranian student, or an Iranian woman with a certain name, or even someone with a partial passport number, then persons meeting those descriptions will be pulled aside. Hi There,
Is it possible??
Company "A" negotiating with a person who does not have paystubs, as he always been on bench.
during this time Company "B" apply for H-1B Transfer(without paystubs as they plan to submit later in a week or so)
Company "A" did the settlement and issues paystubs etc... but same time they apply cancellation of H1.
Can a transfer be done like this???
Please advise as i am dying day and night.............do not make a fun of it.

Hi all,
My wife has MSc in Comp and has work experience of 2 yrs as a programmer in India. She came last year on F2 and applied for H1 this year but She didn't get selected in the lottery. Someone told her that she can apply for jobs in universities and they do H1 (no cap).
Can someone tell us that this is true? and also suggest us where else can she try looking for jobs? Are all the Not-for-Profit organizations same in terms of doing H1 (no cap)?
I appreciate any suggestions and thanks in advance.

the pay is less but jobs is more stable and the university will file the visa paperwork(no lawyers fees)
changing to cap-subject requires a regular oct-dependent h1b visa again

Certain felonies make a person inadmissible, which means no Green Card may be issued for such a person for either 15 years of indefinitely. You need to be more specific. Crimes of moral turpitude are inclusive. There are some limited waivers for some, but not all grounds of inadmissibility.

No. No. No. No. Your spouse can do anything with that EAD. Your spouse can do multiple jobs but once your spouse starts using EAD spouse's H-1 gets void.Me and my spouse both work on H1B and I am applying for I-485 along with EAD/AP for both me and my spouse. My question is since my spouse is already in H1B with certain job title which was mentioned in one of the documents that was filled with i-485, when spouse uses EAD does she need to be looking for similiar jobs only?. Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by reputation?
Having a good website or a forum does not mean the lawyer is reputed. Even small lawyers can be good and can pay more attention to a case. Some lawyers do not know marketing and do not have good website, but they maybe good in law.

I was in MI for a long time, so have called them up and have urged them to join IV.

Many people might have lost job because of last year rally. Here I heard one of company in Chicago area fired all the illegal immigrants in last year immeditely after rally. So this kind of things may not be necessarily positive.
If Illiegals can protest and can have large rallies across the nation then whats the problem with the legals? Why can't we put our point forward through these kind of peaceful but strong measures.:confused:
